Purpose: The purpose of this ministry is to receive, in a loving and caring manner, those individuals who respond to the invitation to Christian Discipleship as well as to those who come to unite with this church family.
Description: This ministry has traditionally been a culmination of the Ambassadors, Associates, Deacons, New Members Ministry (formerly the Scribe Team), Photo Team, and the Baptism Team; however, the Altar Workers will soon expand to include both other ministries, as well as individuals.
Commitment: Completion of 101, 201, 301, 401 Classes, consistent attendance at departmental/team meetings, retreats, and Salem Advanced Leadership Trainings, scheduling and committing to serve as needed. Tenure should extend only as long as the spirit leads, and ministry participants should be consistent tithers as well as strong supports of the New Salem Vision.
SHAPE: Desirable spiritual gifts include encouragement, hospitality, intercession/prayer, compassion, discernment, evangelism, faith, and witnessing.
Expertise and Experience Needed: Fishers of Men.
